Snack Ideas for Work
Nuts
Did I hear your scream, when I said nuts? Yes they are a nutritious snack. Well I agree, they are high in calories and fat, but a few nuts will go a long way to keep you satisfied. As they are power food and provide ‘healthy’ fats, along with some fiber. When you choose nuts, choose the unsalted variety. Along with nuts, you can also have some dried fruits for your dose of fiber and nutrition. There are walnuts, almonds, etc. I prefer having almonds, but you can take your pick.
Fruits
You can choose from a variety of fruits. Haven’t we heard "an apple a day keeps the doctor away". Yeah! Apples make for healthy snacks for work. Citrus fruits give you the required vitamin C and not to forget fiber. You can also choose to cut melons and keep them in the refrigerator to be had as a snack. Strawberries, grapes, etc. also is a good snacking option. You may now ask, if fruit juices are alright. They are not recommended, as most canned juices come with added sugar. Besides eating the fruit will keep you full for a longer period of time.
Vegetables
Like fruits, you can also stack up your office table with salad vegetables. Cucumber, carrots, tomatoes, lettuce, celery etc. are some of the most healthy snacks at office. You will get the required roughage from them. Hummus can also be used as a dip with the vegetables.
Low Fat Cheese
Low fat cottage cheese, reduced fat cheese, etc. are high protein snacks, that can be used as a healthy snacks option at work. Vegans can eat tofu instead. All of them are powerhouses of protein. They can also be combined with vegetables for a balanced and light snack.
Sprouts
Sprouts make for a healthy breakfast at work. They are rich in protein and fiber. Add different seasonings to the sprouts, to make them taste in different always. Vegetables can also be added to the sprouts to make them more interesting. Have you tried dried peas? You can also use them for healthy snacking and will not be bored, due to the different seasonings they come with.
Popcorn
Air popped popcorn is also a great, late afternoon snack and is a healthy snacks for adults and children alike. However, note that I said air popped. Do to use the pre-packed popcorn, as it often contains trans-fat, which is certainly not healthy.

Things I Like
That feeling you get right when you walk into your air conditioned home when its really hot outside.
Visiting your parent’s house and finding your mom cooking your favorite meal.
Finishing a really good, long book.
Looking in your pantry after you’ve been grocery shopping.
Getting brand new pens.
Running into someone you haven’t seen in a long time when you actually look good.
Smiling at something funny that someone says on the street.
Seeing rainbows.
